Can I really merge several videos?

Yes, and this is the part most browser tools get wrong. Clips are re-encoded onto one common canvas before being joined, so videos with different resolutions, frame rates, rotations or codecs still merge cleanly. Fast joiners that skip re-encoding only work when every file is already identical, which phone footage never is.

How do I cut a piece out of the middle?

Put the playhead at the start of the unwanted section and press “Set A”, move to the end and press “Set B”, then press “Cut A→B”. The range is removed and the surrounding footage joins up. The cut can span more than one clip — clips that fall entirely inside the range are dropped, and clips that are partly inside are trimmed.

What is the difference between Split and Cut A→B?

Split makes one cut at the playhead, turning a clip into two you can then reorder or delete separately. Cut A→B removes everything between two points in one action. Split is for rearranging; Cut A→B is for deleting.

Can I add photos between the videos?

Yes. Add a photo and it becomes a clip held for three seconds, which you can lengthen or shorten with a slider, and move anywhere in the sequence. It is scaled and cropped or letterboxed to the same frame as the videos, so the result looks intentional rather than jarring.

Where does the text go, and can I have more than one?

As many as you like. Each caption has its own start and end time set against the finished timeline, not against a single clip, so text can span a cut. Position (top, middle, bottom), size, colour and an optional dark plate behind it are all adjustable.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. Every file stays on your device — reading, previewing and the final render all happen in this browser tab using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. That is also why it works with the network off once the page has loaded, and why there is no account or watermark.

How long does exporting take?

Roughly as long as the finished video, sometimes a little more, because your own CPU does the encoding. A 30-second edit at 1080×1920 typically takes under a minute on a laptop. Phones are slower and have less memory — for anything long, use a desktop.

Why does the preview not look exactly like the export?

The preview plays your original files back to back and draws the captions as HTML, so it is fast and needs no rendering — but the timing at each join and the exact text rendering are approximate. The export is frame-accurate and is what you should judge the result on.

What are the size limits?

Up to 12 files, each up to 100MB. Those limits exist because everything is held in your browser's memory; a longer project is better exported in two halves and joined at the end.

What happens to audio when clips are mixed?

Clips that have sound keep it, and clips that don't — photos, or silent recordings — get matching silence so the audio stays in step with the picture. You can mute every original with one toggle, and add a music track that either mixes underneath or replaces the sound entirely, with separate volume sliders.

How to use the Video Editor

Add as many videos and photos as you like — each one lands on the timeline in the order you add it, and the whole sequence plays back in the single preview box.

Tap a clip on the timeline to select it, then drag the trim handles to keep only the part you want, or use the arrows to move it earlier or later in the sequence.

Put the playhead where you want a cut and press “Split here” — the clip becomes two, and you can delete either half or drop a photo between them.

To remove a section from the middle, set marker A at the start of the bit you don't want, B at the end, then press “Cut A→B”. It works across clip boundaries.

Press “Add text” at any point to place a caption. Drag its start and end to control exactly when it appears, and pick the position, size, colour and whether it sits on a dark plate.

Photos are held for three seconds by default — select one and drag the slider to hold it longer or shorter.

Choose an export size (9:16 for Reels, 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 or 4:5), decide whether to fill the frame or letterbox it, optionally mute the originals and add a music track, then Export.
