Why do other converters break every line into its own paragraph?

Because a PDF doesn't store paragraphs — only glyphs at coordinates. The easy approach is to emit one paragraph per visual line, which looks correct until you edit it: the text can't reflow, so changing a sentence leaves ragged breaks all the way down. This converter works out which lines were wrapped by the PDF and joins them back together, using the right-hand margin, the document's own line spacing and the left indent as evidence.

What structure is preserved?

Paragraphs, heading levels ranked by text size, bullet and numbered lists with their original markers, centred and right-aligned lines, bold and italic where the PDF's fonts identify themselves, page breaks, and column gaps as real tab stops. Font sizes come across at their true point size.

Are tables converted?

Rows and columns are preserved as tab-separated lines with tab stops set, so the data stays aligned and readable, and you can select it in Word and use Convert Text to Table. Actual Word table objects with borders aren't reconstructed — a PDF holds no information about where a table's cells were.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Extraction happens entirely in your browser with pdf.js — your file never leaves your device, and there's no watermark or signup.

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

No — this recovers the editable text, not the exact layout. Columns, precise spacing, tables and styling aren't reconstructed. It's ideal when you want the words in an editable form.

It says no text was found — why?

Your PDF is probably scanned (just images of pages), so there's no selectable text to extract. Run it through the Image to Text (OCR) tool instead.
