The model processes the whole image on your device's CPU or GPU, which gets slow and memory-heavy for big inputs. To keep it reliable, oversized images are reduced to a manageable size before the 2× upscale.

Will it fix a blurry or heavily compressed photo?

It can sharpen and add plausible detail, but it's a small model — it won't work miracles on very blurry, noisy, or tiny images. Results vary by image.
